*LONG REVIEW*
Read if you want..
Was a farce and confusing interview.
Interview started with checking in with security at reception and not being on the system as scheduled for an interview today, security called hiring manager and scheduled me in.
the hiring manager came and introduced himself.
I expected it to be a standard one to one interview with questions and a resume review along with job description and duties.
Interview started with a tour of the entire facility which seemed odd as it felt more like a work orientation rather than an interview,
I was then introduced to potential team members which seemed unnecessary as i was only a interviewee and not actually hired there yet.. I didn't think much of it.
The interviewer was explaining the facility to me as if it was my first day at work which somewhat gave me a sense of false optimism about getting hired
He then explained what it was like to work there and how bad his manager was because of her intensity and stubbornness with regards to hybrid working and onsite working which I didn't really give much thought too and felt it was just unnecessary to say..
We finally got to the actual interview part with questions after a couple more meaningless and pointless introductions to potential co workers.
we got to the interview portion and it began with him brining out a piece of paper with about 6 questions on it.
He then admitted that it was just questions he printed out from a template and that I shouldn't pay too much mind to them and just answer how I would like, this made me feel at ease but deep down quite confused by the unprofessionalism being shown and made me doubt the seriousness of the interview and interviewer.
Anyway, i proceeded to answer the given questions thoroughly to the best of my ability giving examples and results to best convey my skills like in any interview.
As i was answering he skipped a few questions because he felt my answers were already covering upcoming questions on the sheet, which i felt was a good sign but still a little odd for an interviewer to do.
once i answered all the questions he seemed to be very impressed and mentioned i had many skills and experience that relates to the role which would make me a good fit.
he explained there were 3 positions and two were already filled internally,
One position was being filled by the nephew of one of the team members i met earlier
and the other by a girl, he then mentioned i was the external candidate amongst a few others.
I felt this was again very odd as there was a lot of transparency but it provided me a false sense of optimism of being hired for the job due to the seemingly honest transparency.
the interview then ended and i asked when I could expect to be contacted, he mentioned it would be the following week via phone call or email.
I left the interview feeling successfull and as if i really nailed it.
ONLY TO BE COMPLETE GHOSTED the entire week.
I then followed up the next week via email to the lady who did my phone interview with in which she said they are still interviewing candidates so i should expect an email next week.
I then followed up that next week just to be told that they are having more interviews and that we should be expecting to know who is selected for the role the following week.
The week came and still no response, so i had gave up at this point.
I was very dissatisfied by this and just wished they could tell me i didn't get the job rather than playing a game of cat and mouse with me.
very negative experience and a huge lack of professionalism.
thank you for reading.
