I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (New York, NY) in Jul 2015
Interview
Applied online, about two weeks later got an email for a phone interview. The phone interview was basically to confirm a time for an in person interview. The in person interview was a standard read off the page 3-4 questions. A tour of the store was given and a little bit of the company history. I was told they would call me in a week for a decision, instead got an email about a month later saying they went with someone else
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
how would you handle a coworker you didn't get along with?
describe a time you've gone above and beyond for a customer
It was a simple phone call where they asked about my availability and whether I was able to work on certain days and at specific times during the week. The conversation mainly focused on scheduling and making sure my availability matched the needs of the position.
The interview process was straight forward, only one interview. The questions are simple, and after the interview I was to put together two different outfits for different events. That was the conclusion of the interview and then heard back two days later about proceeding.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Nordstrom (San Diego, CA)
Interview
Went in on one of the hiring days before holiday season, did an interview on the spot and was hired. Very simple process, low stress. The manager was very nice.
