I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Bakersfield, CA) in Feb 2015
Interview
I had a group interview with Nordstrom Rack when they opened a new store location. I believe there were around 1,000 applicants and only 70 of which were hired. I had an interview with the women's apparel manager as well as the store support manager. The store manager was mingling with the potential hires in a large room in a hotel.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why Nordstrom Rack? Name a time where you went above and beyond to provide customer service? Where do you see yourself with the Rack?
It was a simple phone call where they asked about my availability and whether I was able to work on certain days and at specific times during the week. The conversation mainly focused on scheduling and making sure my availability matched the needs of the position.
The interview process was straight forward, only one interview. The questions are simple, and after the interview I was to put together two different outfits for different events. That was the conclusion of the interview and then heard back two days later about proceeding.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Nordstrom (San Diego, CA)
Interview
Went in on one of the hiring days before holiday season, did an interview on the spot and was hired. Very simple process, low stress. The manager was very nice.
