I attended the Store Grand opening and was immediately smitten with this store! So much that I applied for 4 positions the very next day. About 3 days later I received a phone interview with an HR rep who then said she would call me back by the end of the week if they decided to schedule an interview. She called back 2 hours later!! Unfortunately I missed her call and we ended up playing phone tag for the next 3 days. She finally scheduled me for a 1:1 interview that following Monday. The interview Monday went well except for the fact that the manager I interviewed with was from a different dept than those I had applied for so when she sat me down and asked"So...tell me why you want to work in HOSIERY" I was like uh, ummmm, I don't! Well I was thinking that but I didn't say it. She asked me basic situation/response questions like "tell me a tie when you had to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer" and "What excites you about commission based sales?" Finally she asked me to pretend she was a customer and sell her the pantyhose she was wearing. (GULP!!) So despite the risk of rambling on I proceeded to talk about the style, quality, durability and comfortability of these stocking that I knew absolutely NOTHING about. She then left the room, came back a few minutes later and said I would be receiving an email soon regarding a second interview. Well I just knew I'd BLOWN it at that point - waiting for the old "thanks but no thanks" email. However, I must have sold the heck out of those pantyhose because I got an email that evening asking for information so they could run a background check. Funny thing was that the position referenced in the email was for the Men's Dept (which is one of the positions I had actually applied for). I answered all the questions and awaited a response. The manager of hosiery just called me today to schedule an interview with the store manager for the day after tomorrow. So to be honest at this very moment I don't know WHICH position I'm interviewing for but I have my fingers crossed either way.
