Part of the interview was a whiteboard session I was supposed to engage the interview participants in. My past experience with another client in the area was to get ambushed with on the fly script syntax. I work with over a dozen script languages now and it takes a while to adjust between them when going back and forth. I don't stand a chance writing the code from memory if its been months since I last focused on it. I am also a Sr. level App Developer and I have to do business requirements, task breakdown, functional criteria, data administration and database creation, testing and support. So one script language is very small in scope to me.
Bottom line is I had to turn it down because I wanted to avoid the ambush again.
Its small thinking and frankly its disrespectful to experience Sr. level IT people
that have been working in the business longer than the people doing the interview.
Asked about the specific technologies that I have been using lately and to be specific.
Asked if I had any questions.
