I applied in-person. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (San Diego, CA) in Dec 2016
Interview
This was a HackerX thing -- speed dating with this company and 7 others. This would have been preliminary to a more extensive interview. I did it mostly out of curiosity -- I had worked in aerospace and wondered what had changed. (Not anything as far as I could tell.) The jobs were all for developers working on or in support of jet fighter avionics.
They asked basic Behavioral scenarios and a resume walk. program management questions. describe the engineering process and how you manage projects. any questions for us? I asked about the culture and promotion opportunities.
Amazing process, smooth and recruiter scheduled them very well. Definitely have your resume known inside and out. The technicals were medium difficulty, Be as well spoken as you can, iterate your points clearly.
I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Redondo Beach, CA)
Interview
Was more behavioral and focused on your experience listed on your resume. After the layoffs, it might be more difficult to get an offer, even if you interned there. If you interned and get a job offer there is no interview process.
