I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Jan 2012
Interview
I thought that the interview wasn't very difficult, but I also got the impression that they didn't take most people. I think it was the location I applied to, it wasn't in a very large city. I completed 2 stages before I declined, the first was a phone interview where they asked questions about my resume, and then personality questions. The second was 1 on 1 in person at their facilities.

Question 1
Who are some great leaders and why do you think they were successful?
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
