The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (San Diego, CA) in Apr 2012
Interview
My first interview was supposed to be with just one HR lady, but one of the Agents that worked there decided to sit in my interview for some reason. The interview went pretty smoothly as I got along with both of the people pretty easily. They ask basic interview questions in the realm of sales. From there I accepted a second interview which was a group/panel interview. there were 3 panel members and about 8 interviewees. The position was for an internship, and me only having 2 classes about to graduate I felt I was way over qualified as most of the people interviewing were freshman sophomores or juniors and I was a 5th year senior. From the questions other people were asking I could tell I was much more qualified. The interview commenced with them giving us this "Rhino" Project in which we were supposed to get 15 peoples numbers that we could "use as future references" (basically people to sell insurance too). The job was 100% commission and the idea of making a living off of initially selling insurance to my friends and family members was dumb.
Very professional and provide a deep background and understanding of the company. The recruiters are very friendly and help guide you through the interview process. Is a multi-step interview process including surveys and questionaries.
I went through three rounds. You have an initial screening, a one hour interview with an advisor, then meet with a partner in-person if possible. Very detailed, and they bring up cultural test results and financial projections.

Question 1
Who is someone in your current network that could benefit from this?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual
Interview
Fortunately it was a decent introduction call.
Unfortunately the recruiter did not know the mission statement for the organization and did not look it up to share it.
Was also informed there were still to be four interviews in the interview process.
