I applied online. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Binghamton, NY) in Apr 2016
Interview
The interviewer called me on the phone and asked me pretty standard questions. She was extremely friendly and I enjoyed talking to her. However, some of the aspects of the job seemed strange like the emphasis on commission based work. Plus, after discussing the job with friends, they said that the job initially has you sell to your "natural network" which I wasn't comfortable with. Overall, the experience was pretty neutral, but what I heard about the job deterred me from considering it.

I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Greenville, SC)
Interview
Very casual, over the phone, expect to cold call even if they say you won't. Almost zero technical questions and seemed rather rushed. Probably wouldn't advise unless you have no other options.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (West Hartford, CT) in Nov 2024
Interview
First was a phone call interview. Then in person with the cheif recruiter. They had me come in for a third interview to meet two more representiatives and gave me assignements to start building my clients
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Honolulu, HI)
Interview
The initial interview was fine. If you wish to proceed they'll give you an assignment that will take some time to prepare. If they offer you a position you'll find its mostly all networking through your personal connections for sales. Not ideal.
