I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Santa Barbara, CA) in Jan 2012
Interview
The first round of interviewing ended with me getting a packet to fill out for "homework." They wanted me to fill out a chart detailing my inner circle of people that I could sell life insurance to. The circles branched out to include people within my inner circle's networks. I was encouraged to color in my packet.

Question 1
What was the greatest challenge I faced during my last work experience?
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
