I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (West Hartford, CT) in Mar 2012
Interview
3 rounds of interviews. Fairly laid back. Mostly just explain why you want the position and some of your experiences. No technical background required.
There was also a presentation on the 3rd interview about your sales experience and how you can sell to friends and family. Overall fairly straight forward if you are a good student. Good internship for freshman or soohomore summer to use as launching pad but you can learn a lot!

Interview
Was told about the program and how I would need to get certified to sell life insurance in order to participate in the program. The interviewer was laid back and relaxed. It was a group interview.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (San Jose, CA)

Three rounds with calls with the head of hiring and with the head of the department, all behavioral questions were asked at each round to get to know you and your network
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Skokie, IL) in Mar 2026
Interview
It’s a three round interview, but it really more about getting to know you as a person no technicals. The second and third interview was the recruiter speaking on the job overview.
