I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Walnut Creek, CA) in Nov 2009
Interview
I applied online, then got a call back within the next few days. The recruiter set up a phone interview then for the 1:1 interview. It was a long process for me. i had two interviews in person. (one i took the personality test at)Then i was scheduled another appointment where i was given a sample survey ( to start your book of business/ prospects) then met with the manager. and was offered the job. The office was great, brand new. Nice people. Great manager and recruiter.

Question 1
Why do you think you are a good fit for this company? what can you bring to the table? how many people do you know? etc.
There were four or five interviews, if you count the meeting with my future mentor. There were also a few personality assessments. Lots of paperwork. The finance industry is tightly regulated.
The first interview was easygoing and went fairly well. We talked a little on myself and what northwestern was all about. Because they wanted to see how I could fit in to their team and what I would bring.

Interview
The process was smooth and straight forward. A lot of behavioral based questions, but relaxed and low stress. First phase is a phone screening followed by a teams or in person meeting.
