I had a phone screen with the male recruiter with an English/ or maybe Irish accent. It was simple. He then referred me to a Zoom interview with the Claims Manager, Claims Lead and another associate. I felt like I enjoyed the ladies who interviewed me. I could definitely do the job at hand. They told me I'd hear back. The recruiter informed me that they wanted to offer me the job. Keep in mind, the job requires overtime and you're paid salary. I tried to get a feel for exactly how much time in overtime is required. He and I also were in disagreement over pay. It was much like trying to buy a car. I advised the recruiter that based on the hours of OT the pay would not be viewed as an increase from what I presently make, actually less because of the OT. He said he would talk to someone with authority at the company and would call be back after the weekend. I agreed. He immediately called me back after 5 minutes, said that if it was him that he'd stay with my present employer and be glad for what I'm presently doing. I thanked him for his candor and I believe that he must've done me a solid favor. Seriously, I'm not sure what is going on at Northwestern Mutual but when the recruiter changes your mind about working there, believe him. I will not apply to this company again in the future but I did enjoy the opportunity to practice up on my interview skills.
