Very thorough & holistic response warning: Interview was an awesome challenge. Typically in my field of recreation therapy, I’ve never had a challenging interview and get offer majority of jobs I apply for in that field. The challenge was refreshing, although it caught me off guard. Shows that the company cares, takes the field seriously, and is organized. Had high expectations on the follow-up process with how well communication went pre-interview. After all, the hiring manager promised to get back with me after the rest of the interviews (with a yes or no). I come from work culture of sending that thank you follow up after an interview & building good rapport. My thank you, follow-up, and request for constructive feedback was all ignored by the interviewer. Essentially ghosted. They offered the job out (which I’m happy the found a good fit), but never told me anything for weeks. It wasn’t till called that I found out the position has been filled. That left a bit bad taste in my mouth regarding that specialty in the hospital. I understand mangers may have time constraint, and want to utilize their energy on their top candidate (I’m guessing I may have been one of their back up). But if you say you’ll get back to someone regardless the answer, keep your word. Often a backup candidate gets dragged along in the process with lack of clarity, wasting their time and jeopardizing their other opportunities. Overall everything up to the post-interview was phenomenal, organized & very professional. Theses growth for their post- interview process.
