I applied via the company website. Received an email from a recruiter requesting writing samples for 3 prompts. I researched the website and submitted three in-depth writing samples. I received an email from the recruiter the next day (Friday) asking for my availability for "early next week," for a phone interview. I replied within an hour with my availability. I didn't hear back from this gentleman until Monday, at 11:35AM asking me for a phone interview at 3:30PM. Unfortunately, something had come up in the interim because I am a busy adult working professional, and you can't email someone DAY OF, for a phone interview within a few hours. I emailed him back to let him know that unfortunately, a conflict for me had come up and that I had availability Tuesday and Wednesday, so to let me know and I would accommodate his schedule. I received NO REPLY. I gave him until Thursday, and after hearing nothing, I reached out one more time to give him an opportunity to redeem himself as a professional, and said something along the lines of, "I haven't heard from you but have some availability on Thursday and Friday if you would like." ZERO REPLY. Was I actually penalized for having a conflict arise because he waited until mid-day to contact me for an interview same day? It would appear so. I have seen this recruiters name mentioned on other interview reviews here on glass door, so I guess I shouldn't have been shocked by the lack of professionalism and follow through. Also, I now wonder, if this how your recruiter operates, what does this say about your company and customer service? I actually feel like I dodged a bullet by not getting any further correspondence. I also have several key contacts in various industries, who have recommended Outbound Engine to me as a great opportunity and business. I will now be advising those contacts otherwise.
