The interview process was very quick and easy. I applied on a Friday evening and was immediately called on the following Monday morning by a recruiter with PLS. The recruiter seemed to think I was a very good fit for the position and scheduled a second interview in-person for the following day.
The second interview, however, was off to a rocky start. The recruiter I spoke to on Monday was not in the Jacksonville office. I was advised to show up to the office 15 minutes early for the in-person interview, which I did. The only way in the building was via key card (safety first). I called the recruiter and he said he would let the manager know to let me in. The manager supposedly reported back to the recruiter that nobody was outside, even though I was standing right at the door in the 95 degree heat with the sun beating on me. After some time, an employee was nice enough to let me in and I explained what I was there for. The manager quickly came out and allowed me to follow him to his office. Already off to a bad start, the manager showed no emotion or passion for what he did or what he liked about this company. I'm the type of person who feeds off of energy. I'll start off nice and personable, but I can't continue to be that way if I'm not getting the same results back. I also don't do well at faking emotions, too, which is why I don't even try to put on a fake smile. It was just a waste of time at that point. I'm drenched in sweat because of a miscommunication on their part, and the person I interviewed with in person showed me in less than 30 seconds that he hates his job.
