I applied online to PNC Financial. It was for a position at Midland Loan Services as a Cash Management Loan Analyst. I recieved an email within two weeks asking for more information (basic background information).
I got a call from HR to set up an interview. HR said it would be with one person, but two actually showed up (the hiring boss and a co-worker). It was a basic interview explaining the position. Then they went over my resume followed by behavorial interview questions. It went well and they said I would know by the end of the month.
A week later I get a call back from HR saying they needed a second interview. I had asked at the first interview what the process was but they never said anything about a second interview. We set up a second interview within a week.
After setting up the second interview, HR called back and we went over the salary for the position ($31,000 to $38,000). I said it was within my range even though I would never have accepted that. I did it for the experience.
It was supposed to be with the hiring manager, but the co-worker and the hiring manger's boss was at the interview. It was the same interview as the first. They had not shared any info with the hiring manger's boss. It was not very organized and came across as such. This interview was the same info and questions (which is pointless). At the end of the second interview they told me that I would know by the end of the month and that they would contact me either way.
I recieved a simple email saying I did not get the job. It was pretty bad that they did not even call especially after two interviews. They never stated how many people were in the second rounds of interviews either.
I would give the interview experience a positive rating, but the not sharing of info between the hiring managers was pathetic. Calling people in for a second interview with the exact same questions is pointless. The email rejection was lazy on their part, especially since they made it seem like they would call.
