The interview was a complete joke. I specifically applied to the General Manager position in a city I’m looking to move to and I TOLD the Regional Manager that when I called to set up the interview. He said that was fine (implying the store had openings) and we arranged to meet in a city TWO HOURS from where I live, but I figured it was worth it. Fast forward to the interview. The Multi-Unit Manager was there, so I figured that was a good sign. They must like my resume. The first thing the Multi-Unit says after looking at my resume is, “You don’t have any restaurant experience?” in the most condescending tone I’ve ever heard in a ‘professional’ interview setting and I no idea what to say. I had sent in my resume and digital interview days before arranging this AND TOLD the Regional Manager that so apparently they don’t even take the time to check your submissions before telling you to drive two hours out of your way. Anyway, I go through the interview with a few more awkward moments like the first just to find out that the position has been filled and this was a general company interview!! I drove TWO HOURS through horrible traffic for them to waste my entire day. Also was told by the Regional Manager that, “If you don’t hear from us in three days just assume you didn’t get the job.” They don’t believe in follow up? I felt like I was brought up there to be ridiculed, not interviewed. This entire thing could have been avoided if they just reviewed my resume prior. At the end they gave a spiel about how ‘experience doesn’t matter cuz they can train you.’ Yeah, right. Extremely unprofessional and rude, I will not be applying here again and I will steer everyone I know who’s even considering applying here away.
