Redundant elements, and UNPROFESSIONAL. Chicago area, north and northwestern suburbs. Via my references, a General Manager and a General Manager / Trainer, directed to apply online. For reference, I have 7 years of small business ownership experience, 11 years of management experience in education ranging up to Deputy CEO, as well as experience as a GM in F&B, and Operations Manager in hospitality and gaming. Prompt contact by a Field Human Resources Recruiter and she arranged for a Zoom interview. Fairly mundane interview, what stuck out to me was how inattentive and unengaged she was. She had made her decision early on, positive or negative. After the interview she emailed me to set up an in-person interview with two Area Coaches of Operations (ACO) for the following day. Met the two ACOs at a hotel lobby, neither had seen my resume. I gave them copies of my resume, and let them know who my internal references were. One was engaged and attentive, the other was not. After leaving the interview, I was called by the engaged and attentive ACO to come in for a work day, a kind of audition or try out to determine whether I was viable as a GM or Assistant GM. I was contacted later on and I was unavailable for the date they wanted. I gave a wide range, about two weeks' worth of days with open times. The ACO said she would get back to me. Instead of progressing down that path, I was scheduled for yet ANOTHER Zoom interview, with ANOTHER ACO and a "regional" officer of some sort. This is where things went awry. Both CH and RB, the regional director(?) and ACO respectively, were not in professional environments. In fact, the regional was outside, walking around. She had horrible signal strength which made her video and audio nearly impossible to work with. Both ladies had never looked at my resume and knew nothing about me. They asked generic questions, were unengaged, and several times asked generic follow up questions that I had just provided the answer for only seconds before. Panda Express is a well known brand and company, and it was disappointing to see such unprofessionalism. I received an email saying that they had decided to move on, but I responded by letting them know that I chose not to work with them after that debacle. This company may be suitable for a job, but at this point in my life, with my prior work experience, I need a career and it was clear that this company was not one to waste my talent, time, or energy on.
