I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Panera Bread (Chapel Hill, NC) in Jan 2017
Interview
online application and personality test followed by a scheduled in-person interview and eventually a shift shadowing a fellow baker. The regional baker manager that I interviewed with in-person said his only concern was my physical ability to do commercial-level baking. Upon shadowing a baker, I understood that he was completely right and ended the application process. The job is extremely physical and requires a good amount of passion for baking that I did not have.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Standard interview questions about experience, interests and goals.
It was fairly easy. Some behavior questions and questions about hobbies. They also asked me if I had any food service experience. Overall, it wasn't a bad gig between jobs.
Applied online, got a phone call to meet at a cafe, interviewed, got an offer, and accepted the job offer. Then scheduled training and orientation. Pretty easy process, except it is 3rd shift.
Very easy. My previous manager became the bakery manager so they already knew me. I contacted her and we arranged a phone call so we could talk about the position and see if it was a good match. It worked out really well for me then I was able to start soon after.
