I had a connection who knew a VP, but it still took two months to get an appointment, and even then I had to use the technique of asking for 20 minutes for an informational interview. I finally got the call: show up at 8:20 am. Very intimidating all around. I am ushered into VP's office, and he never rises from his desk or leans forward to show any personal interest. He said: "What do you want?" Me: "A job." Him: "Marketing or sales?" Me: "Marketing." Him: "Call X." Me: "Thanks." Another two weeks to get to Ms. X. That was a more normal interview, although she was very relaxed and casual, and constantly interrupted.

Cold, distant interviewing method. Very black and white, also seemed like the interviewer was plugging me for proprietary information about my current company (a competitor). I didn't walk away feeling convinced they wanted to know much more about me than my past 6 months of work.
