I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PayPal (San Jose, CA) in Jun 2018
Interview
Convos with external recruiters; then 15 min phone screen with UX Lead; then on-site with a product lead (who turned out not to be on campus that day, but was supposed to go for 30 mins), engineering lead (30 mins) and then a portfolio review with three designers, including the UX Lead (60 mins).
Never heard back afterwards, despite having reached out to recruiter company. Ghosting is now accepted professional behavior!

Question 1
"We're sending out marketing emails, how would you track them? " (Wording was about this vague and interviewer resisted giving details about what group this was for, or what they would be trying to accomplish.)
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PayPal (New York, NY)
Interview
I had a 15 minute phone screen with the HR person about my skills. A 45 minute phone interview with the hiring manager to review the postion and my skills. Then a 5 hour onsite interview with a 1 hour portfolio review. The HR person gave me a sheet to prepare for the portfolio review. My interview was cut short after the portfolio review and I was told to leave with no explanation. I didn't get a call from the HR person for 3 days before telling me they passed on me. He said the manager couldn't get a feel on my design process. However I suspected it really had to do with the hiring manager getting angry during the portfolio review. Even though I followed their instructions and presented each use case and each step I took to reach the solution with examples, he wanted me to show ALL the prior and final screens I worked on for each of my use cases and the live applications, regardless if it violated NDA or their instructions said not to do that.
