I was contacted by a recruiter for a phone interview. The recruiter explained a few things about the company mainly focusing on the employee perks. The recruiter didn't have much information about the job and didn't ask any relative questions about my experience.
Recruiter said they would reach out next week to schedule an interview but instead went silent and never reached out to me again. I sent a follow up email that went without a response.
A simple rejection email is far more professional than going silent. Doesn't even have to be a personal email - just a template email "thank you for your interest...pursuing other candidates...please apply again...thank you". You can Google some examples if you want more detail.
Other job hunters may think this is the norm when in reality this is the standout. Paycom is the first company not to send out some sort of communication regarding to passing on my resume. It stands out - very unprofessional experience.
We’re sorry to hear of your frustration with the interview process. We would like to know more about your experience as this is not the norm. Please reach out to our director of recruiting, Tiffany McGowen, at tiffany.mcgowen@paycomonline.com.
