      Interview

Applied for position on Company Site after seeing new position opening on LinkedIn. Recruiter was polite and friendly as they completed the first 15min phone screening. During the first interview I met with the L&D Team Manager and L&D Regional Manager. Questions were mainly based around my knowledge of Paylocity’s company history, culture, and products, ending with several behavioral situational questions. During final interview, was asked to prepare a 15-20min presentation on an assigned topic and present via Zoom to several other L&D team members. The individuals on the panel were friendly, professional, and seemed very straightforward in their questions and also in their responses to my questions.

      Interview

Three phone interviews and an in person presentation. A recruiter contacted me, I did several weeks of research about the company, agreed to an interview, then had two more phone interviews, then scheduled and in person panel for a presentation and additional interview, the following week was offered a position to start at the next training cycle. About six weeks total.

      Interview

This company was ridiculous. Four interviews and they LIE. I was told that they went with an internal candidate after going through FOUR interviews. I'm pretty sure they just wanted to steal ideas, and they play their cards well asking when can you start, etc. They even said we keep liquor in the freezer here, which is unprofessional. Salary was discussed during initial phone screen, if they wanted someone cheaper they should have cut it off right then. Then they called me back and said that something had changed with the position and they really wanted to talk to me about it....ANOTHER lie. They then said they were changing their hiring process. The job posting was reposted the same day so I am thinking they never filled it. Basically a huge waste of my time interviewing. If they had been honest and straightforward hours of my time would not have been wasted including changing an interview time the night before and using PTO. STAY AWAY from this company, I don't want to know how they treat people they have actually hired.

Thank you for your feedback. Paylocity has a thorough candidate review and hiring process that can involve revisiting promising candidates for certain roles as they open. Sometimes unexpected discrepancies and changes can occur and we apologize if this led you to find your recruiting experience to be unconstructive. It is not reflective of our award-winning work environment in any way. We will use your insight towards continually improving our hiring processes. Best wishes!

      Interview

This was one of the weirdest interview experiences I've ever had. The recruiter was an overly confident twenty-something, and that set the tone for much of the interview. I am not kidding when I say he took up a solid five minutes discussing his work history and achievements. Every recruiter says a little something about him/herself, but this was the first recruiter I've encountered who began an interview by droning on and on about his "achievements" at other companies. It was an unsettling way to start an interview to say the least. I ultimately didn't make it past the phone screen, which I attribute to my lack of preparation for the interview. Still, it was a bizarre experience.

Thanks for your feedback! It’s true our recruiters take time to share their professional backstory with candidates by way of introduction in a phone interview. Typically, we get great feedback on that aspect of our process! We do understand and recognize, however, that the phone interview is ultimately about you and your experiences so we will ensure we continue to focus on the candidate’s skills and achievements. All the best to you!
