Applied on LinkedIn and heard from the recruiter relatively quickly to setup an initial call a few days later. Spent time studying the company and prepping for the call. First thing she said was "I'm just looking at your resume now..Do you have any customer facing experience"? Yes, almost all my experience is customer facing. then, "Do you have experience with mobile"? I have significant experience building mobile friendly web apps but not much in building IOS and Android apps with mobile specific frameworks. Is that what you are referring to? "IDK the manager said we really just need someone who is good with mobile". Ok well it depends exactly what they are referring to, mobile-friendly or mobile frameworks.."Ok I don't think you're a fit, we just changed the job description to must have mobile experience."
Clearly never looked at my resume, portfolio, or Github until I was literally on the phone with her..then just made me feel like an absolute idiot because I don't know mobile frameworks? At least know what you are asking candidates before the interview and vette resumes for "knowing mobile" as an absolute necessity. I won't even get into what it means to know how to use a framework and actually knowing how to write code. The job description says "1+ year of professional experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and/or Mobile Development". Get it together Pendo.io
