The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Pentair (North Aurora, IL) in Nov 2010
Interview
Had a call from their HR department in early October. Interview kept getting "Canceled" or "pushed back". Didn't finally meet with them until early November. I met with HR and two other managers. HR was okay, no questions or anything. Just wanted to buy time until the first manager was ready. First manager ended up being 30 minutes late. (interview was for 2, this person didn't show up til 2:30). No interview question, just "vented" about what is going wrong. Didn't set a real positive tone. Second manager had never seen my resume. Ask me for a copy and was looking at it while I waited. The weirdest question I was asked was "what was the last book you read?" Second manager stated that they were interested in filling the position within the next "30-45 days" because they didn't want to lose the headcount for next year.
I applied online. I interviewed at Pentair in Feb 2020
Interview
Went through a series of interviews with different members of the company to allow them to get to know me, as well as I them. Afterwards, I participate in a few assessments.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Pentair in Jul 2015
Interview
I felt the questions were very open ended, not specific enough to know what they were looking for with answers. The questions I had back couldn't be answered because the interviewer had only been there for a couple months. This person had no knowledge about the team that I would be working with.
