I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PetSmart (Colorado Springs, CO) in Aug 2010
Interview
Usually 2-3 interviews (department, operations, store director). Time in between interviews is usually week(s), interviews themselves usually 10-20 minutes. You must take a drug test- even in Colorado, the company is 100% drug free. Drug test results can take 4-7 days depending what day you went in. Training is a bunch of videos and tests that takes 2 days. When you start they usually just throw you on whatever your new job is- very little on hand training. It tends to be overwhelming for new associates especially those who are new to retail or the pet industry. If you've been with the company awhile it doesn't guarantee promotions- they're usually based on how well the store director likes you.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Go based off of a scheduled questionnaire, nothing shocking or hard.
Sucks big time. People suck. Hours suck. Customers suck. Employees suck. Typical protocols are horrendous and you are expected to do way to much for a little sage. Ten out of ten do not recommend.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at PetSmart in Nov 2015
Interview
Very informal, and very candid. Total interview time was 4 hours. For management, you have to be interviewed by two separate store leads. They work with you to ensure you are a good fit.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Where do you see petsmart in this? Tell us about a time when you had to turn a bad situation to a good one. Tell us about a time when you had to be corrected, and what happened when you were.
