      Finance Interview

      Sep 11, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Phillips 66 in Oct 2014

      Interview

The interview process included a 30 minute interview on campus with two recruiters. There was a meet and greet dinner the night before to get to know the recruiters and your interviewers. The interview was the standard process of behavorial questions and nothing to hard. The interviewers are very friendly and it is definitely not an intimidating process at all.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Phillips 66 (Houston, TX)

      Interview

Met them at a career fair and kept up with them at various recruiting events (like socials). After passing the first screening (career fair) they picked roughly 30 students to attend a company visit (included intern and full time candidates). There you get to network with recruiters more and tour the office. Then you go into an in person interview with 2 recruiters that you should have met the day before. Overall, the interview was relaxed and was more then trying to get to know you/see if you would fit in.

      Average interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Phillips 66

      Interview

All interviewees were invited to dinner the night before the on-campus interviews; dinner had a laid-back, casual tone; on-campus interviews were conducted two-on-one, with two recruiters asking questions; questions consisted of "tell me about yourself" (background, campus activities, hobbies) and several behavioral questions like: "tell me about an obstacle you faced, and how you overcame it", "tell me about a conflict/challenge you faced while working in a group, and how you overcame it/what you learned from it". No technical accounting/finance questions were asked, but come prepared with knowledge about P66. Recruiters were kind and genuine, and gave a great impression of P66. Offer was made day-of.

One does not stand out in particular, but brainstorm about potential behavioral question responses. This process will help you with interviews with other companies/firms as well.
