The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Pinterest
Interview
Submitted resume. Was contacted by email to complete a very involved writing exercise. Spent at least 8 hours completing it. Received an email for a phone interview. Interviewed with the department manager. Typical questions concerning the position. Thought it went well. Received a rejection email less than two hours later. Seemed a bit unprofessional. I'm assuming they had someone else in mind. A waste of time for both of us.

Question 1
How would you tailor the writing voice to speak to businesses?
Screening interview w/ typical questions about prior roles, team size, skills, what have you been Pinning lately, favorite work, leadership style. Lasted 50 minutes. Phone call format, would have been better on video. Screener was typing throughout, which was distracting; surprised they aren't using AI to take notes.

Interview
The interview process consisted of two phone interviews and an on-site four person interview with a presentation they asked me to prepare.
Cons
-Hiring manager did not want to answer my questions. In the 2 hour phone interview and 4 hour in-house interview - they left me almost no time to ask questions and did not answer any of my phone interview follow up questions or my on-site interview follow up questions (they were the same questions).
-One of the interviewers hadn't looked at my portfolio (in the creative field this shows they aren't taking you seriously).
-Hiring manager focused on subjects that were irrelevant to the job.
-Recruiters never reached back out after the on-site interview to let me know I did not get the job. I think after 2 phone interviews and a 4 hour on-site interview where they asked me to create a presentation - it isn't out of line to expect an email letting me know I did not get the job.
-During the on-site I received no sort of tour of the building or space. In all the other on-site interviews I've had, there has always been a quick tour. I think this shows that Pinterest is inviting candidates that they may not be entirely serious about to the office for an on-site. It isn't a huge deal but it is an interesting difference I noticed.
Pros
-The process happened pretty quickly which was nice.
-Up until they decided I wasn't a candidate anymore - the recruiters were quick to respond.

Question 1
They asked a lot of pre-written general questions.

Interview
This was the toughest interview Ive had and I interviewed at Google and Facebook aming many others. A number of phone calls first which were fine, then in person with 4 different people. I found the in person interviewers very snobby, know-it-all types. Was a bit repulsed and wanted to run out of there.

Question 1
Many very specific situational questions with multiple followups.
