I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Planet Fitness (New York, NY) in Aug 2013
Interview
Sat in a lobby of a Planet Fitness gym with a one on one with the general manager of the club.
Manager talked about the specifics of the job for most of the interview.
Asked a few basic questions (situational customer service question)
Once I became a manager myself, I noticed it was all a very lenient process
There is a general guideline of questions the manager can follow. Questions like,
-Can you recall of a time you went above and beyond for ...?
-Can you recall of a time you interacted with very angry customer?
-Can you multitask?
-Can you cover shifts?
Some managers may just have you talk about yourself a bit but for the most part is common sense questions and a test of can you interact with others and are you opposed to cleaning.

Question 1
Can you recall of a time you went above and beyond for ...?
I had a two person interview with a manager and another upper level employee. The questions were relevant and they were very willing to answer any questions I had. I personally don't mind having more than one person interview me for accuracy and oversight, however I can see how that might overwhelm or intimidate another person.
The process was quite Simple and Easygoing. They asked about average and expected interview questions. Nothing too crazy. People were very friendly. Chill environment. Manger made a job offer on the spot. You can choose to accept or decline.
I interviewed at Planet Fitness (Merrick, NY) in Apr 2024
Interview
Simple laid back. Asked about work history and background. Specific hours. Asked if comfortable standing most of the shift. Frequent cleaning. Very nice manager. I feel that younger people tend to get hired more. Pay is not that great.
