Due to the level of turnover in this company, the Regional Vice Presidents are willing to hire anybody willing and able to work either in the sales or marketing roles. Most of the employees are fresh out of college and are willing to work the grueling hours to get their foot in the door at a good company. Upon submitting an application, you will be contacted by the corporate recruiter who will conduct an initial screen, to not only gauge your level of interest but pitch you on the idea and culture of the company itself. If it's a match, you'll be set up with a first interview with the Regional Vice President of Marketing, who will screen your aptitudes and place you as a candidate for either the sales or marketing department (high aptitude and more experienced candidates move to sales, field marketing is for 2nd tier candidates.) You may then be asked back for a follow up interview if all is well, always being offered a few days to mull the position over before accepting.
