I was called to set up an initial phone interview with the recruiter in PA. The phone interview was about 30 minutes and was conversational style. Comfortable and positive. He informed me that he would then forward my information over to the local office where I would be invited for a face to face if they wanted me. I got a call from the recruiter after a couple of days, set up an interview for the following week at the local office. My first impression - office seemed old, grungy and musty, elevator was rickety and wreaked of cigarette smoke. This was a panel interview, again conversational style. I was there for 1 1/2 hrs! They asked me a lot of hard "what if" situation questions, and questions about past situations as well. There was a lot of firing back against my answers - my guess is to see if I would react to the stress of being put on the spot. One of the interviewers was wearing a baseball cap in the interview, and was not very professional in my opinion. He was the one that was firing back, and there was a sarcastic undertone in the interview. I had a little time to ask some of my own questions at the end, one of which was asking about the next steps in the process. They then informed me, If I were chosen that I would come back in for a 2nd panel style interview and bring 10-12 of my own questions to ask that were not related to pay, benefits or hours. After the first long interview, and in anticipation of another interview that could take anywhere from 1-2 hrs, I was not thrilled that they would be unable to make a decision after all the information they were able to gather from me and to have to have a complicated interview process that required me to take hours out of my work week and fight for a job that might not even be offered, or might not pay well(they did not disclose anything about a pay range, but certainly wanted a figure from me). After a week they invited me back for a second interview, that was scheduled for even another week out - Within that week wait, I had an interview with another company and a job offer was made. I bowed out respectfully, but was unable to reach anyone on the phone - so I left a voicemail message and 2 emails - Nobody ever responded.
