The interview process with Progressive felt highly impersonal and disconnected. After submitting a resume, candidates are quickly sent an assessment test that includes complex vocabulary and math problems—questions that seemed more aligned with management-level expectations rather than entry-level roles. While I understand the need to evaluate skills, the test felt unnecessarily challenging and not reflective of day-to-day job tasks.
Following the assessment, the next stage is a HireVue interview, which involves recording answers to pre-set questions. This part of the process felt particularly dehumanizing, as it lacks the natural flow of a real conversation and removes the opportunity to connect with the hiring team. Overall, the experience felt overly automated, rigid, and detached, which made it difficult to showcase my true skills and personality. An interview is already nerve racking and to not have the support from your potential team is disheartening.
