The Hiring process is lengthy but I for a good reason. I applied for the position online. A week later I was invited to do an online assessment. The following day I was informed I passed by telephone and I was asked to schedule a telephone interview.
Two days later I did the telephone interview it took about an hour and they go through your resume, your employment history, your education and a series of behavior based questions. (Be sure to go through a number of behavior based questions that deal with time management, conflict resolution, customer service, problem solving skills and personality type questions.) After the interview they said they would call me and let me know the next step in the process.
A few days later I got an email from a background check company asking for authorization to perform a background check. This part of the process was time consuming, They will want to check all your previous employments that you included in your Resume. They will call each employer listed and Education institutions attended. If they cannot reach anyone they will ask you to reach them and/or ask them(previous employers & School) to call the background company to confirm what is on your resume. This step in the process took me two weeks. I provided copies of my W2 and copies of my diploma, because they had a hard time reaching my previous employers. Please note if they cannot verify your information you will not go forward with the interview process. So a speedy verification process will be advantageous to you.
A week after they completed my background check I got a call to schedule an onsite interview. Again I was interviewed by The Claims Director & the Regional Manager. They went over my resume and asked me some more Behavior based questions. After which they asked if I had any questions for them. (My advice is ask as many questions as possible regarding the company and the position as well as the expectation of the position.. This will help out. )
After the interview was over, they said they would have to consult with the recruiter and I should give them 5 business days to hear back from the recruiter... Exactly 5 business days later the Recruiter called and offered me a position which I accepted.
The Interview process is lengthy if you are looking for a position with Progressive please give it at least 4 weeks. They will keep you updated and I am told if I had not gotten the position they would still have called me to let me know why. (which most employers do not do)
