First you take an assessment to see if your skills are what they’re looking for. The assessment just imitates a call center setting for one half of it. The other half is a personality test and basic math skills test.

I never had a formal interview. It was a self recorded video of me interviewing myself. Not a fan of those interviews as the recruiter or HR real often doesn’t get to know their candidates through a self recorded interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Colorado Springs, CO)
Interview
Met the minimum requirements, then I got a link to the four part assessment. Once I passed the assessment, almost right away I got an invite to a HireVue interview. Finally, I got to interview with real people.

Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer.
It was a fairly lengthly process which involved the application, an assessment, pre-recorded one way interview, and a live virtual interview. Asked behavior-based STAR questions. It was extensive with at least 10 questions.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Allentown, PA) in May 2026
Interview
The interview process is extensive, there are several levels after applying for the position. Initially there are several questions to answer followed by a video interview with Behavioral questions to be answered in their STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result) followed by the following interview with an actual manager. This interview was also answering additional behavioral questions in the STAR format and answering several other questions. After all was said and done. I received an e-mail informing me they went a different direction.
