I applied online. I interviewed at Providence (New York, NY) in Oct 2016
Interview
I applied through their website and was emailed by the recruiter for an initial call within a week or so after applying.
The recruiter asked me about my experience with the startup I started, team size, etc. Other questions were about my previous experiences. Despite having a few senior roles as well as a co-founder of a modest startup with 16+ years of software experience and under, and 2 masters in computer science, I was told that I was a better fit for a senior software engineer role.
I had to decline furthering the application in an organization where it was obvious that the recruiter has no idea on how to recruit ambitious people who built companies and have entrepreneurial streak.
I would discourage people to look at their innovation group or at least avoid talking to the recruiter and directly going to the hiring manager somehow.
