      Senior Print Production Specialist Interview

      Mar 20, 2009
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Roseland, NJ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Prudential (Roseland, NJ) in Feb 2009

      Interview

I was contacted by someone from HR to schedule an interview. There was no initial phone screening. I was sent an itinerary for the day with one person's name on it. I later asked for this person's title and department as that was not indicated on the itinerary. I was greeted promptly at the interview time and spoke with the Manager who would be the direct report. Everything seemed to be going well and I did not notice any negative body language. I asked more questions of the Manager than I was asked. Interview consisted mostly of job description and responsibilities. I felt that I had connected with this person. After, I was asked to meet with the Director of the group. A few "interview" style questions were asked but it was a very skim the surface type interview. Overall, I would rate the interview as positive. I was told I would hear back within 2 weeks. This would be the only interview. After the interview I sent "thank you" emails to both people that I had met. Neither one responded to any of the additional questions I had asked of each or acknowledged the emails. I heard back from HR within the 2 week time frame telling me the position was offered to someone else. I asked for feedback on why I was not selected as I was qualified and thought I had a positive experience. This was ignored by the HR dept. The person I had questioned did not get back to me. I then later noticed the same position was posted on their website with a different title but the same job number and exact job description. I thought this was suspicious and wondered about the companies business practices. Overall, the people I met with were very nice. I am not sure I would consider them professional based on common courtesy. The office environment was business casual. Everyone I came in contact with at the building was friendly, i.e. people walking in the hallways, security. For whatever reason I was not selected, perhaps I was too professional. I chalk it up to gaining interview experience and chose to move on. I felt slighted for none of my communications being answered and that is why I rated my overall interview experience as negative.
