I went through a phone screening process with the an HR respresentive then I did an interview with the supervisor/manager over zoom. I applied from Egypt but the job I applied for was following and catering to the Emirati market. The interview experience was pleasant and I enjoyed talking to the supervisor/manager. During the phone screening,before the interview, I was encouraged to lay out my salary expectations. I shared my current salary and I was told that the salary for the job I was applying for was 50% lower than my current salary. I expressed a bit of hesitation and inclination to accept the position despite the lower salary but the HR representative assured me that she will talk with the supervisor about a salary increase and encouraged me to stick to my salary expectations and not accept bare minimum. 2 days later I did the interview. I waited for about a week and I got no response and at the same time I had to travel abroad so I sent the HR person an email letting her know that my phone will be out of reach but I'll be accessible through email. I didn't get an answer for a week so I sent her a text message and instantly got reply saying " i saw your email but I was waiting for you to come back", she didn't know when I was coming because I never mentioned it in the email. I told her that I'm not sure when I will be back so if you want to arrange a zoom call I'd be happy to. She agreed we had the call the next day where she enthusiastically offered me the job indicating that I left a good impression on the supervisor. I was happy so I asked her if she discussed the salary issue with the supervisor, she forgot about it then she said that it won't be possible. Then she offered that she will talk to another supervisor who is looking for a candidate like me and matches the salary that I deemed fit. She said the original offer will still be on the table if i decide i dont want to go with the second one. She said she will get back to me very soon. A week passes by I dont get an email, I send a followup text to which she responds she will wait for me to get back for us to arrange a call. Again I never told her when I was coming back so I told her I'll be back in a few days and she doesn't say anything. When I do get back I call her she doesn't answer, I send her a text she doesn't answer and then I send another and no response. 3 weeks pass by and I finally send her a message explaing that I understand if they went with someone else but that I'll appreciate knowing what the final verdict is. I still get no response. To say the least I'm quite disappointed to get "ghosted" after i got a job offer simply because I was negotiating my salary in a respectable manner. I had 3 years of experience and I was offered a salary that was same as a fresh grads salary. Not to mention I was offered a salary that was lower than the Emirati employees were getting even though the job was serving the emirates branch. I expected better from a good prestigious company like Publicis and more importantly I deserved better than to be punshied for simply discussing my salary.

The process takes about an hour. The interviewers are very nice. There are two rounds of interviews: a phone screening with HR and a face to face meeting with managers. You need to complete a written test before the interview with the managers.

Written test for an hour. Then an interview with two staff members. The interviewing process is relaxing. Focused asking questions on my personal development. The whole interview including the written test took around 1.5 hours.
