I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RSM (Irvine, CA) in Oct 2015
Interview
Went through on-campus interviews, and invited back for an in-house interview. On campus interview was with a senior manager, and was pretty laid back and conversational. In-house interview was 3 back to back interviews with either a senior manager or partner at the firm. After the interviews, there was a lunch at a nearby restaurant with all the interviewees and a couple of the newer associates and senior associates.
Thought the interview went well overall, but never heard back anything from HR, not even a rejection email. In my opinion, it was pretty unprofessional reflected poorly on the firm to bring someone in for on-campus and in-office interviews, and not even bother giving them an email back regarding their decision. All other firms I had interviewed with during this process were able to give me a call or email back regarding their decision, and though the process did not work out smoothly for me at RSM, I was able to accept an offer elsewhere.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why accounting, and tax in particular.
What other firms are you interviewing for?
Basically with a group of other candidates where you meet each other and get assigned into groups where you have to complete a task then have an individual interview where they try to learn more about you and whether you are the right fit for their team.
Online Test moderate difficulty, Initial interview with basic questions, group discussion and another round witb technical accounting, taxation and general questions. I had interview through placement from college so the levels may differ from normal interview process.
The overall process was straightforward. First there was a hr screening interview then soon after a interview with the hiring managers. Mostly behavioural questions were asked that were job specific.
