I applied for the Corporate Finance grad scheme within their London Farringdon Street Office. Initial process involved going to their offices in Gatwick to undertake numerical and verbal reasoning tests- slightly different to normal but nothing hard. Then an assessment centre followed- group exercise and very casual 2-on-1 interview. If you got through that, you had a 2 hour case study to do. Again the case study wasn't too difficult, it required some financial literacy but otherwise you had access to the internet so you could research.
Heard back from the company after 3 days, I wasn't offered the job as I was told I was "too polished and professional" at the assessment centre. Possibly the most useless piece of feedback I have ever received, whilst they also stated I seemed "better suited to a big 4 firm". To me this feedback suggests they felt that I wouldn't stick around long-term, however I think this is a ridiculous stance to be taking when hiring- to take those that will stagnate and stay long-term rather than picking the best qualified individual on the day.
