I applied online and was contacted by HR to set up a phone screening interview. The phone interview went well and I was scheduled to come in to the office two weeks later to meet with 3 managers. Each manager only had 20 minutes to ask questions, which seemed a little rushed and short to me. Despite the time limitations, I thought everything went pretty well. I was told that the team would not be making a decision regarding next steps until mid December (the interview was the week before Thanksgiving). I sent follow up thank you emails to the managers and HR. Again, HR stressed how they wouldn't know until around mid-December. Well... mid December came and I hadn't heard anything so I reached out to HR again just to check in. I never received a response from HR or anyone else from the company. It is now the end of January. I was extremely disappointed not only because I was very interested in the position, but because of the complete lack of response. It put a bad taste in my mouth and made me view the company differently. I know we are all very busy, but I think it is a good business practice to at least send an email response informing a candidate that they no longer wish to continue the interview process so both parties can move on. In my opinion it is just rude to flat out ignore someone and it's unfortunate that HR operates this way.
