      Fee Based Associate Interview

      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Raymond James Financial

      Interview

After applying for this position, I received an email that read "As part of our staffing process, the resume you submitted will be forwarded to the appropriate recruiter for review." Four days after this email, I received an email telling me to take a questionnaire/assessment test for further consideration. I was sent another email for a link to the assessment. I had to register for the assessment and create a login. The length of the assessment test was about 25 minutes. The questionnaire was predictable and typical. It was a lot of the same questions that you see in a lot of questionnaires. Questions like, paraphrasing of course, "what would you do if a coworker was deliberately doing his tasks poorly, creating more work for others?" I passed the assessment and in less than 2wks, I received a call from corporate. I was briefly told about the position, a reiteration of information I already read when I applied for the position, and I was scheduled for a phone interview that occurred about a week later with a different person at corporate. The phone interview lasted about 10min. It was basically questions about previous positions I held and why I was interested in the position so the phone interview wasn't anything unexpected. After the phone interview, I was scheduled for an in-person interview. I was interviewed by two managers that were directly related to the position I was interviewing for. They were either unprofessional or "friendly"-- the latter is obviously an interviewing trap. I was even offered coffee. Everything was typical. I was asked to tell them about who I am, the positions I held, would I return to my previous employer (a trap to make me speak bad of my previous employers), why I was interested in the position, if I had any questions for them, more information about the position, and etc. The in-person interview-- they did not have structure. They were not organized. They kept looking to each other for the next question or what should they talk about next and etc. And it appears they were even looking to me to fill in the gaps. It was a bit awkward. I did do my part in participating by asking all relevant questions that I had without monopolizing the interview. The interview lasted for about 45min. Overall, the interview went really well but I was disappointed with the lack of challenge.

      Question 1

I was "overprepared" for the interview. There were no difficult or unexpected questions. The questions were very typical.
