I did a "45 minute" online assessment which took almost double that time and was not remotely relevant to the role I was applying for and then I did a recorded video interview where there was no human interaction or rapport building. Feedback was that they needed someone more collaborative. It's very hard to show collaboration when talking to a blank screen...
Two rounds of a process without speaking to anyone is awful candidate experience. They need to think about the fact that the candidate may have questions too and be mindful of their time. Interviews are a two-way process - the candidate is also interviewing you! As someone who already works in in-house recruitment for a large global company, I was very much put off by this process. If you don't have time to speak to a shortlist of candidates at Stage 1 then you need to expand the team and not let one person be spread so thin as it's having a detrimental effect on candidate experience and I guarantee you're losing candidates because of it.
