I was called in for an interview for a Customer Service Representative, and I met with two managers and was told that two similar positions were hiring- one was a Backup position whereas the other was a regular Representative. They were both respectful and asked good questions. They talked a lot about what to expect, how I would interact with customers, what the training opportunities were, etc. They asked about previous customer service experience and seemed very interested in my background. When I asked about next steps, I was told that they could not express any interest until I did a background check. I was told that HR would contact me the following Monday with instructions to complete this background check. They told me to follow-up if I didn't hear from HR. I waited four days after I was told I would hear back before I called HR. When I explained my situation and how I was told to follow-up about the background check, I was given a very short "They're still interviewing, you're not out of the running yet. We'll call you." It felt like a very different response than the one I received from the interviewers. I never received a call.
