The interview process was a very long, tedious, and drawn out. It began with a call from a Relias HR recruiter where they asked basic questions to determine if I may be a good fit. From there they scheduled another more in-depth call with the HR recruiter which also included a Test. Apparently, there is a threshold you need to meet with the test and my score was right at the cusp. They recommended I retake the test to better my score which I did and I moved on in the process. I then had another interview with the HR recruiter after completing the test. My 3rd interview was with an individual on the analytics side who was new because their company was recently acquired by Relias (Relias is buying too many companies too fast hence why there are rough transitions, confusion, and lack of synergy) During my interview the interviewer was very passionate about the tedious and extremely laborious interview process. I was told that I was clearly qualified for the position based on my background and we had a phenomenal interview. Keep in mind, all my interviews went extremely well and I was excited about the opportunity with Relias even though the process took 6-7 weeks! Finally, I received a phone interview with a VP who essentially would be my boss, prior to the final interview on site.. Unfortunately, this interview did not go very well at all. In fact, it was probably the worst interview I have ever experienced in my life! There was virtually no dialogue exchanged from the interviewer. He simply did not talk almost the whole interview. I am still baffled how this guy is where he is based on his poor interviewing skills. There was zero compassion, zero energy, he didn't even reply to my questions! This guy was not excited to be talking to me and had ZERO and I mean ZERO personality. It was like interviewing a robot. I had many questions during this interview and I received response such as: "I'm not sure about that", "That's not really my department", "That doesn't fall under our platform", "I can't really answer that question" etc. Needless, to say after that interview, I received a call from the HR recruiter who said I would not be moving forward in the process. No kidding! I wasted 6-7 weeks of my life to interview a schlump in the very end who botched the whole deal for me. However, the grass is greener and I am a believer in fate! Ironically, I interviewed with another company. Interviewed with a Sales Director - he liked me so much and put me in contact with the CEO same day! I interviewed with the CEO and our interview was flawless...a perfect marriage. CEO passed me down to my boss who interviewed me. At the conclusion of that interview he said we want to move you forward in the process and fly you out West to our HQ and meet face to face. This process took 1 week! By the time I flew out West it was 2.5 weeks! So they flew me out west to HQ and wined and dined me and gave me a tour of their operation. I interviewed my CEO and boss separately and was extended an offer on the spot. They saw the value I could bring to the table and obviously they liked me, so they didn't prolong the process. I am making way more than I could of made at Relias and it goes to show their old school interview process with too many phone interviews is letting highly qualified candidates squeak through the cracks! Relias needs to learn how to make a decision. I even explained this to my company I was interviewing with (current employer now) and they laughed and said hey they Relias lost out and we got you so we'll take it! Learn how to make clear cut decisions, Relias! Your loss my gain : )
