Did two rounds of interviews and was shocked at the attitude of both interviewers.
In the first, there was an ego complex/attitude from the interviewer in judging code style. The interviewer's expressions and disapproval was clear throughout the interview process. I presumed it was because they moved to Rippling from an elite NY hedgefund and was importing that behaviour.
The second interview, the interviewer simply pasted the question into the online code editor and stayed mute (physically and literally). They simply sat and watched for the whole hour.
Several clarifying questions were unanswered (they said nothing, made no obvious facial expressions and left it as an awkward silence) so the only direction was to self-lead the interview and mention all assumptions being made out loud.
At the end of the interview, they mentioned that the solution wasn't extensible enough for the initial problem.
The general engineering culture must be a dumpster fire if this is the average interviewing experience and across multiple people.
