Entire process took 9 weeks from application to final round. Recruiter screen, hiring manager screen, take home assignment, virtual on-site block of 4 hours to meet with multiple people in a row.
Everyone was fairly nice overall. It took a long time between steps to get feedback or decisions. I had to reach out myself more than once at different steps.
I was told that they give a take-home and don't do live-coding since it's not a good indicator of how well someone does on the job. Then during the on-site there was a live-coding session.
The entire hiring panel for this job was comprised of white men. There was no diversity throughout the entire process.
The initial stages were straightforward, but complexities surfaced during technical interviews, posing greater challenges. Despite this, the overall experience was positive, offering a valuable learning opportunity and insight into navigating both the accessible beginnings and the intricacies of technical assessments.
I applied online. I interviewed at Rivian (Palo Alto, CA) in Sep 2022
Interview
45 minutes interview presentation. Questions are rounding with job requirements and presentation details. Two Ph.D. stuff asked two different fields. There should three people to attend my interview, but only show two of them, the team manager did not show. I think this is why I got rejected after waiting three weeks!

Question 1
What's your understand about **** (Tec requirements)
Recruiter interview + technical assignment. Halfway through the technical assignment, the position I was interviewing for was taken down and it took 2 weeks to get any confirmation, no feedback. Recruiter was responsive but it seemed like there were different recruiters for same position, hence position was gone already.
