The compensation and benefits offered by the company are commendable. The interview process, comprising three rounds post the initial phone screen, seemed structured and reasonable at first glance. However, my primary concern arose during the phone screen itself.
The person I spoke with was not technically inclined. Yet, she relayed two technical questions from the security team to me. This approach was concerning and raised a red flag for me personally. Technical queries should be posed directly by the relevant technical team, ensuring clarity and a thorough assessment.
Given that I responded at a high level, for someone outside of a technical or the relevant team despite the ask for detailed responses, it led to a misrepresentation of my abilities for attempting to adjust. Another issue is the possibility of the person not notating and forwarding my responses correctly either, hence adding additional complications. Consequently, despite meeting all job requirements, my application did not progress further. Such technical questions should be integral to an interview with the relevant technical team and gain a more thorough understanding the candidates background, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation. There is no way a candidate can be assessed properly based on only 2 questions that are indirectly asked.
If anyone from RO is reviewing this feedback, I urge you to reconsider the interview approach. Entrusting personnel outside of a technical role with technical assessments diminishes the integrity and effectiveness of the interview process. While the intention might be to expedite proceedings or save time, it risks overlooking competent candidates. I genuinely believe that my experience with this phone screen could be a reflection of a broader issue, and I hope my feedback aids in refining your hiring practices for the betterment of future candidates.
