      Network Engineer Interview

      May 12, 2012
      Anonymous employee
      Pleasanton, CA
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Robert Half (Pleasanton, CA) in Jan 2010

      Interview

this was a very shallow interview process with out much technical content. the interviewers seemed to be more concerned with fitting into the team than with actual job capabilities and experience. the manager performing the interview was new to the position and was extremely uncomfortable in the process.

      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Robert Half

      Interview

This company's recruiters and senior recruiters are notorious for cold calling people like me with invented or phony job openings. Their usual technique is to call you on the phone or send an email, then schedule you for an in-person or Skype interview, where they will give you very real-sounding requirements for the "job" that are designed to get you interested; then they solicit you for your resume, any contacts or opportunities you have encountered, and what you are working on at the moment. It will not go any further after that. They will not answer your emails, call you back, or follow up with you to schedule an interview. Something very wrong there. It is unclear to me what they want with my resume, but NEVER ONCE has any contact I have had with any recruiter at RHT resulted in employment, an in-person interview with a prospective "employer" or a follow up from the recruiter. Do NOT accept any invitations or connections with RHT recruiters! Chances are high they are not serious about some "job" they are "recruiting" for. Here's a tip: try to follow up with one of them after your initial Skype meeting. If you get no response from the recruiter even after repeated attempts, you are being ignored and you just got scammed. If you want to be sure, don't agree to give them your resume until they send you the employer's actual job description(not theirs), name of hiring manager or HR representative, exact job title, and city where the job is located. Then try to find it for yourself. This is a rotten company with scandalously high internal turnover. Don't let them waste your time.

As long as you know what RHT is really after, their questions are not difficult or unexpected.

      "Network Engineer" Interview

      Jul 8, 2014
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Robert Half in Jun 2014

      Interview

I was skeptical after reading all the reviews and interviews posts about Robert Half on Glassdoor. However, after having a one-on-one meeting, everyone was right. The job postings you find on Dice, Monster, and other job search websites are fake. They use these postings to lure candidates in for a meeting. In your meeting, you will be told that you don't have any experience, your experience isn't relevant, and/or your education doesn't matter. The technology orientated positions they have available are mostly contract based and range anywhere from one day to a few months. Hourly pay rates for these positions average $15-17 dollars. If you are lucky, you might get a 12 month contract, but even then I would estimate you will be paid $20,000-$25,000 less annually than if you found a job on your own. Just remember, they will try to sway you into lowering your job standards and pay range so that they can fill their positions. Robert Half gets paid once these positions are filled. It makes perfect sense that they want you to think you don't have the experience, education, or skills necessary for a better job.
