I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Robert Half in Apr 2012
Interview
Applied for non-related positions with their clients, but was called about a recruiting position instead. They rushed me for next day interview and would provide little-to-no information about the position prior, not even the title, that could help come in prepared or do any research. Even the interview was very vague. Seemed like that was all on purpose and they were just 'tire-kicking' for any person who applied to their clients who they thought may be good for their recruiting sales. Had two, very short 1:1 interviews. One was a salesman type and other the 'bottom-line' manager - both wore dark-colored suits, white shirt & tie. They were reasonably personable, manager even let a profanity slip. They asked me to call next day to let them know if interested, so I sent thank you notes, called & asked many follow-up questions. Questions about potential for future mobility within the company were NOT well-received. When asked, they said it is basically a 4-stage interview, further outlined the process and said they were 'just browsing' over medium-term. Said they would keep in touch about a follow-up for that position and/or others with their clients, but they never have.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Robert Half (San Jose, CA)
Interview
There was a phone screening with the Office Manager and Director. Once I passed the screening, I had to complete an in person interview with the Office Manager and the Director. Afterwards, I met the team and received an offer the same day.
Multiple in person interviews, met up for dinner with the entire team as the last portion. Very conversational, compared to hard hitting questions. Friendly team and easy to get along with.
The process was streamlined, friendly, and professional. They knew what they were looking for and were communicative with me throughout the process. I appreciated the transparency and the purposeful way interviewing was conducted.
